I kept thinking you were talking about the beginning of Indy 3 with River Phoenix - didnt realize Chronicles existed. Will check it out! Were there really 100 documentaries made to go along with this?!

There apparently were to go along with the DVD release (DVD releases were FULL of extra material back in the day) but I don't know how else they can be found today!

I really enjoyed this. I should go watch the Indy series. I knew it existed but had never seen it.

It's a totally bizarre series, but definitely worth a look!

It just came to me: I read about that in The Cinema of George Lucas by Marcus Hearn.

Interesting take on The Phantom Menace. I had a (kinda) similar experience of feeling like I was "watching history" when I first saw Revenge of the Sith with its monumental and legendary scenes depicting major events of Star Wars lore.

The other commenters have talked about Young Indiana Jones (which I haven't seen except for an episode or two), but I'm going to talk about Radioland Murders (which I also haven't seen except for a few scenes). There is more of a connection between that film and The Phantom Menace than perhaps you even realize. Radioland Murders is...a prequel! The married couple played by Brian Benben and Mary Stuart Masterson are the future parents of Richard Dreyfus' character from American Graffiti (they all have the same last name of Henderson). I wish I could remember where I read that. Thus, when you add the forgotten sequel More American Graffiti, you have another George Lucas trilogy. I guess you could it a "nostalgia trilogy" of sorts. Did you know that?
